The Toowoomba Concert Orchestra could not exist without the skills, enthusiasm and hours of practice and rehearsal work of its conductor and playing members.
Equally important are non-playing friends of the orchestra who assist with organisation, administration and who cheerfully support the orchestra in its rehearsals and performances.
In addition to these individuals the TCO gratefully acknowledges the support it has received in cash and in kind from sponsors including, during recent years;
The University of Southern Queensland who provide our excellent rehearsal venue and the prestigious USQ Arts Theatre as our primary performance space, Educare Child Care Centre, The Gambling Community Benefit Fund, Parts for Cars and the Toowoomba Regional Council.
TCO is keen to attract other local sponsors who see value in our contribution to the community. We “survive” on membership fees and ticket sales but we have some adventurous plans that we would like to pursue. To do this we need some modest ongoing sponsorship.
The TCO expresses its thanks to an “anonymous group of Toowoomba individuals” who have pledged the sum of $1500 per annum for three years to the orchestra.
The group wishes to support “classical instrumental music in Toowoomba” and to “assist the TCO with projects that will be of particular benefit to your orchestra, but that otherwise you might be unable to undertake because of the risk of significant financial loss.”
The group signs itself as “Honouring Toowoomba’s musical past and supporting its future.
There are number of exciting possibilities on the horizon and this financial support is certainly timely in giving the orchestra confidence in moving forwards.
