Who We Are

We are the Toowoomba Concert Orchestra
A vibrant community collective of diverse, passionate musicians who come together to share the joy of music making. Comprised entirely of volunteer members, our orchestra is built on goodwill, mutual respect, and a shared love of music.
We’re bold in our ambition and connected in our purpose, to perform with heart, learn with intention, and inspire our audiences through powerful live performance.
Each year, our rehearsal schedule follows a concert program that typically includes three to four performances. These are carefully curated events designed to engage, challenge, and entertain. Rehearsals form the heart of our musical process, creating space for collaboration, discovery, and excellence… both in preparation and performance.
What We Value

- ➔ Being part of a full and committed orchestra, where we value both the journey of rehearsing and the thrill of performing.
- ➔ Practicing respect, cooperation, and engagement with one another and our community.
- ➔ Fostering social fellowship, where friendships grow alongside musical growth.
- ➔ Celebrating the diversity of our players — from students to seasoned professionals.
- ➔ Embracing our responsiveness to community opportunities and our ability to connect with diverse audiences.
We are a community orchestra, not bound by rules, but grounded in a deep responsibility to each other. Our reward? The pure enjoyment of creating something greater together… the music.

A Short History

Fifty Years in 2025… Honouring TCO’s Musical Legacy
Formed in 1975 as the Allegri Players, the Toowoomba Concert Orchestra (TCO) has evolved into a dynamic community ensemble uniting musicians of all levels. Over nearly five decades, TCO has built a proud tradition of performance excellence, music education, and community engagement throughout the Darling Downs and beyond.
As we celebrate 50 years in 2025, we reflect on a rich history shaped by passion, dedication, and the joy of making music together. From intimate recitals to large-scale concerts, TCO has provided a platform for countless musicians to grow, connect, and inspire audiences. We look forward to honouring our legacy with a special concert season and sharing our story with those who’ve been part of the journey—and those just joining it.
