Who can join the orchestra?
Anyone with a passion for music who is confident and competent in performing orchestral music can join! We welcome seasoned players and those returning to their instruments.
What types of music do you play?
At TCO, we embrace a rich and diverse repertoire, performing everything from timeless classical masterpieces to exciting contemporary works and popular favourites. We love taking on new challenges and bringing fresh energy to every performance — but we also cherish the iconic orchestral pieces audiences know and love. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!
When are rehearsals held?
Our rehearsals are usually held weekly on Thursday evenings, offering a regular opportunity for members to refine their skills and connect with fellow musicians. In the lead-up to performances, we schedule additional rehearsals to ensure we’re stage-ready and delivering our best for every audience.
How can I join the TCO?
Joining TCO is easy! Simply reach out through our contact form, and we will provide you with all the necessary information to get started.
Do I need to audition to join?
No audition is required to join TCO! We warmly welcome musicians who are confident in their playing and ready to perform. We recommend a skill level around AMEB Grade 5 or higher (or equivalent) and most importantly, a passion for making music and being part of a vibrant orchestral community.
What age group is the TCO for?
TCO welcomes musicians aged 15 and above, creating an inclusive environment for all ages to enjoy music together.
